Health Bureau
The Oral Health
Bureau is a part of the Iowa Department of Public Health within the
Division of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention.
The bureau is
responsible for monitoring the oral health status of Iowans, policy
planning based on evidence and research to improve oral health and
access to dental care, and helping Iowans maintain good oral health.
Through these
tasks, the Oral Health Bureau has dedicated itself to promoting good
oral health as an essential part of sustaining good overall health.

Every Iowan is free of dental disease and is empowered to maintain optimal
oral health. 
Protecting the health and wellness of every Iowan through the prevention
and early detection of dental disease and through the promotion of
optimal oral health.
